Job Purpose:
- To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the mobile clinic truck, facilitating the delivery of specialized healthcare services across five (5) counties namely Kisii, Meru, Kiambu, Nakuru, and Nyeri. The role is integral to the success of the NIHR Global Health Research project, providing logistical support and contributing to seamless operations of the mobile endoscopy clinic.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain the mobile clinic truck, ensuring timely transportation of the clinic and staff across the five counties.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the truck is in excellent working condition.
- Coordinate with the team to load, set up, and secure the mobile clinic equipment during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic regulations and safety standards during operations.
- Keep an updated log of vehicle maintenance, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Report any mechanical issues or incidents promptly to the Project Manager.
- Support the clinical team in setting up and dismantling mobile clinic stations.
- Assist in general logistical operations for the mobile clinic as required.
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Kenyan driving license with classes BCE and PSV endorsements.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience driving heavy commercial vehicles or medical vans.
- Demonstrated knowledge of traffic regulations and vehicle safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor truck repairs and maintenance.
- First aid certification is an added advantage.
- Flexibility to travel and work in various counties.
- Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
