Role overview:

We seek to recruit an experienced and self-motivated individual for the role of Procurement Officer – Technology. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the ideal candidate will be charged with the responsibility of timely procurement of quality goods and services within the IT category from approved IT suppliers and partners, including ensuring all commitments are monitored and delivered promptly in compliance with the company’s policies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives aimed at optimizing IT purchasing processes and maximizing value for the organization.
• Effectively and efficiently source for goods and services, both locally and internationally, as per laid down procedures.
• Monitor market trends and economic factors that may impact procurement costs, assess and mitigate associated risks.
• Ensure timely supply of quality goods and services that meet all specifications, company requirements and from approved suppliers.
• Execute requests for proposals (RFP), requests for information (RFI) and request for quotes (RFQ) for the category ensuring delivery as per the business requirements.
• Liaise with respective suppliers, clearing and forwarding agents, transporters and regulating authorities such as KRA, KEBS and KPA for timely and effective delivery of materials.
• Lead suppliers’ performance management through regular tripartite review meetings with internal customers/stakeholders.
• Contracting and contract management.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field;
• Diploma in CIPS or other relevant professional certifications;
• At least 4 years work experience in a similar role in a reputable organization;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
• High degree of integrity and honesty;
• Result driven and a team player;
• Knowledge of SAP Materials Management module;
• Project management and analytical skills;
• Well conversant with contemporary procurement processes;
• Knowledge of IT related Procurement – enterprise software, systems and tools, core IT infrastructure & prior experience in handling IT hardware/ software purchases and digital requirements.
