Principal Consultant – Talent Advisory At Cedar Consulting Ltd – APPLY NOW

The Role

  • We seek to recruit a Principal Consultant in our Talent Advisory business responsible for building relationships with new and existing clients, converting these relationships for Cedar, leading the execution of Talent Advisory engagements and positioning the brand as the “go-to” firm for talent and change solutions.

Job Summary

Business Development

  • Cultivating, managing and strengthening client relationships and identifying and responding to specific client needs through proposals and client pitches.
  • Identifying and developing business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Leveraging professional networks, referrals, and attending conferences and events to promote Cedar Africa Group.

Delivery/ Project Execution

  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of project plans, work scopes and effectively managing all stakeholders around the same
  • Leading the preparation of project deliverables including defining tasks and activities to be completed and managing project resources.
  • Leading the preparation of deliverables ensuring the Cedar brand maintains the highest standards of quality.
  • Ensure client expectations are effectively managed from contracting to execution to closure.

Team Leadership

  • Contribute to the professional development of junior staff through coaching, mentorship and on-the-job training.



  • Likely 10+ years of professional experience in management consultancy/professional services or similar environment.
  • Exposed to talent acquisition and talent development and engaging senior leaders.
  • Significant work experience leading execution of projects, providing leadership to project teams and building solid client relationships.
  • Track record of delivering results and doing what it takes to achieve targets and exceed expectations.

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstratable technical skills in HR, and Talent Management
  • Proven ability to build solid and trusting relationships, with solid existing professional networks.
  • Experienced manager that can balance strategic issues and a hands-on approach to project execution.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational and project management skills.
  • A high degree of professionalism and credibility.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset that understands ‘you eat what you kill.’
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a team player and team builder.
  • Comfortable in a high-performance, start-up atmosphere.
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner.
  • Superior writing skills
