Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Segment Head – Personal Banking, the Scheme Administration Manager – Personal Banking will coordinate all the personal banking business for centralized schemes (MOU’s) to ensure the bank strategies, goals and objectives are achieved.
The Scheme Administration Manager – Personal Banking will support the business to achieve its objectives on scheme administration for centralized Mou’s, Effecting of loans on check off, Follow up on payments for Equiloan deductions and Submission of change of pay points to respective institutions allocated.
The Scheme Administration Manager – Personal Banking will oversee various schemes under public and government institutions, private institutions that are located centrally which include but not limited to: TSC, Disciplined forces, State Departments and Pension. The role holder will support all regions and branches centrally from Head office.
Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
Schemes administration for the centralized MOUs
- Confirmation of the pay roll details before loan approval by Credit Risk.
- Confirmation of stop orders.
- Advising the final disbursement of loans through Central disbursement.
- Submission of change of pay points to the respective institutions.
- Liaising with the Salaries department to ensure that there is a timely crediting of the customers deductions once the funds have been received by the bank.
- Following up of timely crediting of the customers salaries in their accounts when the monthly payrolls are closed.
- Liaising with the credit risk –consumer analysts to ensure that there is a timely approval of loan applications.
- Following up and ensuring that there is a timely disbursement of personal banking check off loans at disbursement department.
- Handling of loan applications exemption requests from the branches in liaison with the Regional RM Business and Segment Head
- Advising the Operations department on the central recovery of the under – deducted and un-booked loans once the salaries have been received by the bank.
Booking:
- Ensuring that all the disbursed Equiloan are fully affected on checkoff at the various payroll departments.
- Communicating the booking status of all the loans disbursed per month to all the branches.
- Collating the Equiloan schedules every payroll date, analyzing and advising the branches on the loans that have been adopted, reduced, and dropped.
- Follow up on Equiloan deductions for payment with the payroll accountants / Finance department heads.
Compliance
- Conducting weekly call back snap checks on sampled checkoff loan applications to ensure that the call back forms have been dully filled and that actual call backs have been done to the supervisors that the customers report to at the unit level to ensure that the applicants have no pending disciplinary issues at the unit level.
- Ensuring that loan and salary statements are authenticated.
- Preparing the administration fee commission schedules every 15th of the month and advising the Finance team for charging to branches.
Portfolio quality management
- Managing the performance of the portfolio of relationships assigned to them.
- A continuous cleanup of the loan book to ensure that all the reinstated customer’s deductions are re-instated on the pay slips.
- Other Roles
Liaison with various Sector internal and external Stakeholders.
- Update and advise the Segment Head- Personal Banking on progress of Personal banking business in the various assigned institution.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in Personal banking
- University degree in a Business or marketing related course
- Computer proficiency with high command in Microsoft suite
