Maintenance Officer Job At Pipe Masters and Plastics Limited

Pipe Masters and Plastics Limited is a leading manufacturer in the PVC pipe industry, renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation. We are currently seeking a  Maintenance Officer to join our expanding team.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of machinery, equipment, and facilities within the manufacturing plant.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of production equipment, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe working environment for the workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Developing weekly, monthly, and annual inspection schedules for all machinery and equipment in the factory, including extrusion lines, mixers, socketing machines, pulverizers, and other relevant equipment.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments, to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns promptly, working closely with the maintenance team to implement effective solutions.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and breakdowns to minimize production downtime and get the equipment back to operational status as quickly as possible.
  • Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and consumables, ensuring that they are available when needed and initiating procurement when stock levels are low.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, and equipment history, for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to equipment maintenance and safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality control, to ensure effective communication and coordination for maintenance-related issues.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the factory’s infrastructure and facilities, including electrical systems, welding, plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Blowing of external panels and printers and any other duty that may be assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in maintenance in PVCS Pipes manufacturing will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair activities, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, and diagrams, and follow work instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the maintenance team and other departments.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in an industrial setting.
