REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade an officer Must:

• Be a Kenyan citizen (National Identity Card/ Passport);
• Have served in the grade of Registered Clinical Officer I for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• Have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution,
• Have acquired a Higher Diploma in Anesthesia from a recognized institution; 
• Have a Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Have a Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officer’s Council of Kenya;
• Possess a Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officer’s Council of Kenya;
• Have a Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution; and
• Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

• Providing clinical services in a health facility;
• Conducting ward rounds, reviewing and making appropriate referrals;
• Carrying out anesthesia procedures as per training and skill;
• Offering specialized clinical services including Anesthesia
• Compiling and analyzing clinical data;
• Implementing community health care activities in liaison with other health workers;
• Sensitizing patients and clients on preventing and promotive health;
• Providing clinical outreach and school health services; and
• Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time
