REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade an officer Must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen (National Identity Card/ Passport);
- Have served in the grade of Registered Clinical Officer I for a minimum period of three (3) years;
- Have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Institution,
- Have acquired a Higher Diploma in Anesthesia from a recognized institution;
- Have a Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Have a Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officer’s Council of Kenya;
- Possess a Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officer’s Council of Kenya;
- Have a Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution; and
- Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Providing clinical services in a health facility;
- Conducting ward rounds, reviewing and making appropriate referrals;
- Carrying out anesthesia procedures as per training and skill;
- Offering specialized clinical services including Anesthesia
- Compiling and analyzing clinical data;
- Implementing community health care activities in liaison with other health workers;
- Sensitizing patients and clients on preventing and promotive health;
- Providing clinical outreach and school health services; and
- Any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time
