Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans that outline objectives, timelines, resources and activities to improve sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for WASH interventions.
- Work closely with communities to raise awareness about the importance of hygiene and sanitation, and to encourage active participation in WASH programs.
- Develop and disseminate educational materials and campaigns aimed at promoting behavior changes related to hygiene and sanitation.
- Regularly track and assess the progress of WASH interventions, ensuring that activities are on schedule and objectives are being met.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to donors, partners, and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Oversee the budget for WASH interventions, ensuring that funds are used effectively and efficiently.
- Support the implementation of national and local policies related to WASH and ensure that project activities are aligned with broader policy frameworks.
- Advocate for improved hygiene and sanitation standards at the community and government levels, emphasizing the importance of sustained investments in WASH.
- Coordinate responses to hygiene and sanitation emergencies, such as disease outbreaks, ensuring that interventions are rapid and effective.
- Build and maintain partnerships with other organizations, agencies, and stakeholders involved in WASH initiatives.
- Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices between different projects, teams, and partners to enhance the effectiveness of WASH interventions.
- Any other duty as assigned by supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health/Community Health or related field.
- Strong interest in WASH-related issues and community development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 3years experience in community engagement, or fieldwork.
