The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Nairobi, Kenya site maintenance organization focused on all aspects of maintenance. This position is responsible for both equipment and facilities planned and corrective maintenance along with MRO storeroom management. The incumbent will deliver impact and drive breakthrough performance through the development and implementation of a strategic reliability plan in line with best practices such as Total Productive Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance, focused on improving Safety, Quality, OEE, Cost and Sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of a comprehensive equipment reliability and facilities management strategies with clear steps targeted to drive site priorities.
- Build capabilities in the Kenya site maintenance team to create and drive a loss elimination culture that is focused on supporting the front line teams.
- Utilization of maintenance strategy and TPM knowledge to drive autonomous maintenance capability at front line.
- Developing performance goals, calculating methods, targets and reporting tools (often based on benchmarking and/or diagnostic findings) as well as a daily management system consisting of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly tactical and strategic maintenance reviews to drive high performance.
- Development and implementation of a robust maintenance planning and scheduling program at the Kenya site to drive equipment reliability
- Responsible for the identification and implementation of cost savings projects in Repair & Maintenance to reduce cost and drive value.
- Lead the site sustainability agenda in conjunction with the Safety / Health and Environment (SHE) department
- Partner with Plant Leader and Steering Committee to coordinate maintenance activities across site.
Experience you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance organization leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience with establishing and executing a maintenance reliability strategy
- Demonstrated experience leading people and change management
- Knowledge of TPM / Lean Manufacturing and Planned Maintenance / Equipment Reliability strategies
- Demonstrated experience in SAP PM Module
- Experience in the FMCG / CPG sector working with automated processing and packaging equipment.
- Experience in a 24×7 environment
