Purpose: To deliver high-quality instruction, engaging in innovative research, and contributing to the development of law program.
Duties and Responsibilities: –
- Teach and asses courses in law to both undergraduate and post graduate students;
- Supervise postgraduate students;
- Initiate, promote and participate in research projects;
- Attend and participate in seminars, workshops and conference in relevant fields;
- Attend and actively participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;
- Participate in departmental and School Board meetings and other activities.
- Conduct community service and initiate linkages;
- Any other official duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements for appointment: –
- LLD or its academic equivalent degree qualification from an accredited and recognized University.
OR
- LLM from an accredited and recognized University;
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University as a Lecturer;
- An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing license;
- Must have a minimum of two publications in refereed journals;
- Provide professional and community service and initiate linkages and fundraising;
- Must show evidence of contribution to University life through active participation in departmental matters, students’ academic advising, school and university meetings committee membership and others;
- Currently registered for and undertaking LLD will be an added advantage.
Candidates interested in the position are expected to fulfil requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. In this regard, they must submit copies of the following: –
- Certificate of good conduct from Director, Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Tax Compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Clearance from the Ethics & Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC)
- Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau

Employment for the above mentioned positions will be on permanent and pensionable terms except for Tutorial Fellow. The appointed candidates will be remunerated as per the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum(IPUCCF) and CBA 2017-2021 approved salary rates.
