HR OFFICER ((Job Ref: ZU/10/Adv/41/2024)
S/he will be responsible for offering support in running HR functions, supporting other department and employees with an objective of a positive and impactful employee experience while still keeping in mind the University’s sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:
- Assisting in job staff planning and participating in budgeting and budget control
- Job evaluation and analysis, managing recruitment and selection including new employee onboarding
- Participating in talent management including talent review and succession planning
- Analysing and monitoring performance of departmental objectives and SWOT
- Implementing learning and development programmes
- Managing staff performance
- Making HR decisions and providing support including sound HR advise to departments, faculty and staff prioritising a positive employee experience
- Collecting employee feedback and acting accordingly
- Coordinating activities, guiding on and implementing staff disciplinary policy
- Managing employee separation
- Assisting in planning and implementing employee reward and employee welfare programmes
- Payroll preparation and approval
Qualification & Experience
- A Bachelor degree in human resource management from a recognized university; A Master’s degree in human resource management is desirable
- A Certified Human Resource Professional
- Up to date IHRM membership
- At least 3 years relevant experience in a University setting is mandatory
- Must possess working knowledge of the labour laws
- Must possess demonstrable skills of an Employee Experience Champion
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have good IT skills
