- Our Client, a renowned provider of cutting-edge solar water heating solutions based in Nairobi, Kenya, is seeking a visionary and results-driven General Manager to lead its Solar Water Heater Division. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to steer the division towards new horizons of growth, including business expansion into areas like solar pumping, heat pumps, solar PV, and more.

- Establish clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team’s success.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing, motivated team to exceed organizational goals.
- Manage the supply, installation, and overall delivery of solar water heaters and heat pumps with precision and quality.
- Conduct on-site assessments, offering technical guidance and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Optimize project efficiency by managing budgets, resources, and timelines for maximum profitability.
- Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional satisfaction and loyalty.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any concerns with professionalism and timeliness.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services and products, enhancing customer value.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, covering sales, revenue, expenses, and profitability metrics.
- Analyze market trends and competitor actions to identify potential opportunities and risks.
- Provide insightful recommendations for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and market segments.
- Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets, expanding the division’s footprint.
- Collaborate with senior management to devise long-term growth plans and strategic initiatives for the division.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Proven leadership experience, particularly in senior management roles within the renewable energy industry.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to drive performance and innovation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A deep understanding of solar water heating systems and related technologies.
- A track record of success in driving business growth and hitting targets.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulations and standards related to solar energy installations.
