Job Purpose
- The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in steering the financial operations of the company. This will involve managing accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements. The role calls for a dedicated, meticulous, and analytical professional who will deliver accurate financial reporting and provide strategic financial insight to management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure the timely preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Provide financial and analytical support to management, including monitoring operational and sales metrics.
- Monitor the allocated budget and manage funds efficiently.
- Collaborate with external partners, including auditors and tax advisors, and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Manage all tax and statutory filings, ensuring they are submitted on time.
- Uphold quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
- Develop and reinforce business processes and accounting policies for robust internal controls.
- Supervise financial contract compliance and facilitate timely renewals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or their equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial role within an audit or corporate firm, managing general ledger, VAT, and statutory filings.
- Proficiency in Accounting Packages, spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
- Proven track record of managing cash flow, accounts receivable, and payable.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with local accounting and compliance regulations.
