Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans and design curriculum to ensure all areas of driving course work are covered;
- Teach student motor vehicle operation, road rules and safe driving practices to impart driving skills;
- Provide practical driving lessons on the road to ensure lesson learnt in class are put into practice; Monitor students driving, offering advice and assistance as needed to help the students develop their driving skills;
- Instruct students on the basic operation of a vehicle, defensive driving techniques and minor car maintenance;
- Assess students class work and driving abilities to provide a basis of recommending issuance of driver’s license to students who qualify; and
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Driving Instructor training certificate from NTSA or from a recognized institution;
- Three (3) years relevant experience;
- Passed Occupational Trade Test II for Drivers;
- Valid Driving License for relevant class;
- Defensive Driving Certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the Highway Code;
- Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works Attended a First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than One (1) week from a recognized Institution;
- Valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service; and
- Shown Merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

- Certificate of good conduct
- Tax compliance certificate
- HELB clearance
- Clearance from EACC
- Clearance from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
