Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in developing of the Company Security Manual that complies with ICAO requirements.
- Formulate, develop, maintain, and implement the Aircraft Operator Security Program (AOSP).
- Assist in handling intelligence, investigations, and responses to security incidents.
- Coordinates and conduct internal Avsec trainings throughout the organization
- Establish and maintain security training programs for aircraft searches and emergency situations, maintaining training record filing.
- Maintain security reports, committee meetings, incident reports, investigations and liaise with internal/external quality control activities. Promote security awareness throughout the organization, maintain airline compliance with aviation security programs, and update security systems based on regulations and inspections.
- Assist the Security Manager by providing direction, monitoring performance, motivating staff, and ensuring employee development.
- Assist in preparing a security training calendar.
- Ensuring effectiveness of security program by regular evaluation and inspection.
- Effective liaison and networking with governments, authorities, law enforcement agencies and clientele agencies.
- Providing specialized advice to senior and line management in all security functions, protection, intelligence, information and investigation.
- Assist in ensuring an effective risk analysis and monitoring, threat assessment and response capability.
- Assist the Security Manager in developing and publishing policies to counter the threats and risks.
- Advising managers on the implementation of countermeasures.
- Initiating special security measures during periods/instances of increased threat;
- Conducting planned & random home base and field stations security audits.
- Be completely familiar with the security requirements applicable to all area of responsibility.
- Prepare written, local security instructions.
- Ensure that staff whose work includes security functions has been recruited and trained appropriately and receive proper supervision more so on the check-in areas.
- Ensure security responsibilities are included in Job Descriptions and are covered, where relevant, in performance appraisals.
Education And Experience-Education Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Criminology or any relevant field.
- KCSE Mean score of C+
Education And Experience-SkillsRequired
- Must have completed an Avsec supervisor security course from an ICAO recognized institution.
- Have undergone the ICAO AVSEC 123 training.
- Possess a good level of English proficiency
- Training on instruction techniques is an added advantage
- A minimum of 3yrs in an aviation environment.
- Possess a Certificate of Good Conduct (Police Certificate)
- Good Communication & report writing skills
