Role Statement: The Safety Officer report to Head of Safety and is responsible for supporting the safety office in the implementation of the Safety Management System across the organization.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
- Drive a healthy and safe working environment in compliance with company standards, industry practice and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure full implementation of the SMS program within all departments.
- Ensure continuous improvement of the hazard identification and safety risk assessment schemes
- Implement and maintain an efficient Emergency Response Plan
- Establish, implement and maintain risk-based tools and techniques and conduct operational risk assessments to strengthen operational programs, processes and controls.
- Planning and execution of safety and quality audit program.
- Ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions that address issues identified by quality audits or safety investigations or other internal reporting mechanisms are implemented.
- Collect, collate, document and produce periodic safety reports and trends for the attention of the Head of Safety and Security
- Building and maintaining a sound and updated safety data bank of incidents reported within the company.
- Preparing and disseminating safety information to flight crew and the rest of the staff through safety memos/ periodic safety bulletins and trainings.
- Plan and coordinate safety Group meetings.
- To ensure timely alerts on FDM exceedance are communicated to HSS and maintenance.
- Plan monthly safety group meetings and organize conferences with outsourced FDA service provider.
- Ensure conclusive follow-up of the recommended correctives actions from the safety Group meetings.
- Oversight the implementation of KSPIs within operational area
- Support crisis team’s activities during a crisis as required
- Maintenance of the CMC room
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- At least 2 years of experience in aviation safety and flight operations
- Dispatch or PPL certificate added advantage
- Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Aviation related course
- Excellent communication & exceptional people skills.
- Strong Analytics, Organizational & Planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver desired results
- Has successfully completed training in:
- Safety Management System course recognized by Jambojet.
- Safety Risk management
- Auditing
