We are seeking a pre/primary school teacher for Gede Forest School.
Role and person specification:
- We are looking for the first pre/primary school teacher to join Gede Forest School. The successful candidate will provide play and learning opportunities to the first cohort of up to 9 children, for the first 6 months. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in curriculum development for the school, in preparation for when it expands in September 2025.
- We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a natural leader, has a passion for nature and is enthusiastic about outdoor teaching and play.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing and delivering lessons and play sessions on different topics and themes
- Assessing and providing feedback on child progress
- Responsible for welfare of the children, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment
- Responsible for keeping the teaching area and equipment tidy
- Line management of teaching assistants and helpers
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education Degree, Diploma in Education, or Diploma in Primary Education
- Teachers Service Commission (TSC) registration number
- At least 3 year’s experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- IT, record keeping and report writing skills
- Good knowledge of preschool curriculum
- Open, honest and trustworthy
- Up to date first aid qualification
