To effectively serve our mandate and to ensure consistent quality service to our client, we are looking for a mature, dynamic and self-motivated individual to fill the following position.
Sales Assistant
The Sales Assistant will assist in sales of the Society’s products and services to existing and prospective customers and also maintain appropriate records as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Regional programs and Business Development Coordinator sell BSK products.
- Interact with customers effectively to ensure continuous sales of BSK products.
- Ensure all collected payments are receipted and banked.
- Ensure that all customers are accorded prompt and quality customer service that is responsive and meets their needs and expectations.
- Maintains scripture supply and other inventories at levels adequate to meet the needs of the customers in consultation with Regional Lead, P & BD
- Assists with daily reconciliation of cash registers.
- Participates in periodic physical inventory counts.
- Sets up and maintains display cases and ensure shelves are well stocked.
- Keep the bookshop neat and tidy and that goods are accurately priced.
- Process online and mail orders
- Dispatch larger orders via courier
- Deal with order queries in a timely manner
- Collect data from customers for back orders.
- Support the implementation of the various BSK programmes.
- Perform any other duty as assigned by the General Secretary /CEO or any an authorized official of Bible Society of Kenya.
Minimum Requirements
- Advert -
- Diploma in Sales/Marketing or any other business-related field
- Valid Driving License Class C1
- Additional professional qualifications or membership of a relevant professional body will be an advantage.
- At least 2 years’ experience in sales, distribution, or a bookshop
- Experience in the use of a point-of-sale software is an added advantage.
- Ability to resolve complaints/issues and defuse angry situations with customers.
- Ability to Work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Computer literacy with knowledge in basic Microsoft applications
- Must be a born again Christian.
