Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council.
- 3 years’ experience at Grade 8 within MKU or at a similar position in a recognized academic institution.
OR
- Advert -
- Higher Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing Council.
- 5 years’ experience as a Nurse Assistant or at a similar position in a recognized institution.
Key responsibilities
- Provision of Nursing care and counselling
- Observe patients’ vital signs, review and maintain patients records and reports from assistant nurse and where appropriate escalate matters to the chief clinical officer for action.
- Ensure care and patients assisted in movement within the health centre.
- Assist doctors while carrying out procedures e.g. taking blood samples, fixing drips, giving medication
- Carry out simple procedures like bed bathing, dressing simple wounds while referring difficult procedures to the Chief Clinical Officer.
- Ensure proper maintenance of patient records.
- Plan, supervise and co-ordinate nursing care
- Ensure availability of medical supplies and keep inventory of medical supplies
- Ensure cleanliness of patients and the environment.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
