Job Description
Key duties and responsibilities:
The job holder will be responsible for the following duties.
- Carrying out scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Carrying out calibration of all mechanical monitoring equipment
- Installing, testing, and commissioning new or refurbished plant equipment and systems
- Carrying out regular safety inspections; interpreting technical drawings as per work requirement
- Carrying out diagnostics and troubleshooting of faults of the plant and auxiliaries
- Monitoring and regulating machine load, voltage, frequency, and dam reservoir levels.
Educational Requirements Job Experience/Qualifications
- Must be a holder of O-level certificate with a mean score of C (plain) and at least a C- (Minus) and above in Mathematics and Physics subjects.
- Diploma in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and a final certificate from the national examining body(KNEC)
- Registration as a certified engineering technician with KETRB/EBK is mandatory.
- Proficiency in computer application.
- Experience in a production or electricity generating environment is an added advantage.
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
